Wedding · October 2025
Mariam & Mina
St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington DC · Fairfax, Virginia
Mariam and Mina met in college, and on October 12, 2025 they were married at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Washington DC in Fairfax. This St. Mark Coptic Orthodox wedding was one of the most fun days I have ever been a part of, and it was beautiful from start to finish.
Every wedding I photograph begins with a conversation, and Mariam and Mina’s was no different. I am a quiet person by nature, but sitting down with a couple to talk about their day gets me so excited. We talked about the decor and all of the small details they had chosen with so much care, the shots that mattered most to them, and the overall vibe they wanted their wedding to have. By the time the day came, I knew exactly what it meant to them, and that always makes a huge difference in how I capture it.
Mariam and Mina have known each other since college, and you could feel that history the moment you walked in the room. They were relaxed, happy and laughing with everyone around them, and that energy carried through the whole day. The limo ride was an absolute blast, with the whole wedding party piled in, the music turned all the way up, and the two of them right in the middle of it all. I loved every minute of it!
A beautiful ceremony at St. Mark
When we arrived at St. Mark, the energy shifted into something quieter and deeper. A Coptic wedding ceremony is ancient and beautiful, and I always move through it carefully and with respect, so that every prayer, the ring, the crowning and the walk Mariam took down the aisle with both parents can unfold without me ever getting in the way. Seeing the same two people who had been laughing in the back of a limo now sitting crowned side by side, still and taking it all in, was something truly special to witness.
That is what I strive to deliver to every couple, photos that hold the whole day, the joy and the reverence together, because both are part of who they are. After the ceremony the music and the vibes came right back up and stayed there all night. I hope that whenever Mariam and Mina look through these photos, they feel the magic of their special day all over again.
